The giveaway

The Dovo Personal waitlist giveaway (the "Giveaway") is run by Dovo SA ("Dovo", "we", "us"), Rue du Rhône 14, 1204 Geneva, Switzerland. These rules (the "Rules") apply to everyone who joins the waitlist at getdovo.com/personal while the Giveaway runs. By joining, you accept them.

The prize pool is 250 USDC. 25 people win 10 USDC each. Entry is free. You never send Dovo money to take part, and nobody at Dovo will ever ask you to.

The Giveaway closes on Wed 30 Sep 2026, 23:59 UTC. Invites made after that moment do not count.

Who can enter

• You have a mobile number in Kenya, Nigeria or Ghana that you control and can receive SMS on.
• You enter once with your email address and provide your mobile number. One person, one place on the list. We verify your email at signup; your phone number remains unverified until account creation or prize delivery.
• You are not a Dovo employee, contractor or an immediate family member of one.

Joining the waitlist does not open a Dovo account. It reserves your place for the launch and enters you in the Giveaway. Opening the account at launch is subject to our identity checks and to the terms that apply to Dovo Personal at that time.

How invites count

When you verify your email you get a personal invite link. An invite counts when a friend joins through your link and verifies their email. Until they verify, the invite does not count. Historical invites confirmed under the earlier phone-verification flow retain their credit.

• New invites count only after email verification. Providing a phone number does not verify it or establish that an entry belongs to a different person.
• An email address can only join once. The first link it joins through gets the credit. Multiple email addresses belonging to one person do not create additional eligible entries.
• You cannot invite yourself, and invites between the same two people in both directions count once at most.
• Your count on the page is live. The count that decides the winners is the one at closing time.

How winners are chosen

The top 10

At closing time, the 10 people with the most verified invites each win 10 USDC. If two people have the same count, the one who joined the waitlist first ranks higher.

The draw of 15

Everyone with 3 or more verified invites who is not already in the top 10 enters a random draw for 15 more prizes of 10 USDC. Following Dovo on X and joining our Telegram group can lift your chance in the draw.

Announcing winners

• We run the draw and confirm the ranking within 7 days of closing.
• We contact potential winners at their verified email address. We may also publish winners on the waitlist page by their public alias only.
• A winner has 14 days to respond. After that the prize goes to the next person in the ranking, or to a new draw.
• Before account creation or prize delivery, we require phone verification and may require identity checks. Rankings and prizes remain provisional until eligibility is confirmed. A winner who cannot meet these checks forfeits the prize.

The prize and how it is paid

Each prize is 10 USDC, credited to the winner's Dovo account when Dovo Personal launches and the winner has opened their account. From there the winner uses it through Dovo like any other balance: buy airtime, data or a voucher, send it to a mobile money wallet, or send it to a bank account.

• Prizes are paid only into a Dovo account, only to the person who entered, and only after our identity checks pass. There is no cash alternative and a prize cannot be transferred or sold.
• A prize is paid in the prize currency. What it is worth in your local currency depends on the rate on the day you use it.
• Any tax or levy on a prize is the winner's responsibility.
• A winner who has not opened a Dovo account 60 days after launch forfeits the prize.

Fair play

The Giveaway rewards people who genuinely bring friends to Dovo. Any attempt to game it removes you from the Giveaway, from the prizes and, where we judge it necessary, from the waitlist. This includes, without limit:

• Joining more than once, or using email addresses or phone numbers you do not personally own or control.
• Using temporary or disposable email services, or several spellings of one inbox (dots, plus-tags, alias domains) to create more than one entry. Those spellings sign in to the same entry and never count as an invite.
• Using virtual, temporary, rented or bulk numbers, or any automated tool, script or bot.
• Invite-for-invite rings, invite swapping between groups, or any arrangement whose purpose is to inflate counts rather than bring real people.
• Buying, selling, renting or trading invites, places on the list or referral links, or paying anyone to join.
• Pretending to be Dovo, or misleading people about what they are joining.
• Any other conduct that we consider dishonest, abusive or against the spirit of the Giveaway.

We decide, at our sole discretion, whether conduct falls under this section. We do not have to warn you first, tell you how we detected it, or justify the decision, and the decision is final. We may remove invites we consider suspect, reset a count, disqualify a person at any point including after a winner has been announced, and reclaim a prize that was obtained by breaking these Rules.

Removing an entrant does not affect the other entrants, except that the ranking and the draw are recalculated without them.

Changes, suspension and cancellation

We may change these Rules, the dates, the number of prizes or the way winners are chosen where we have a good reason to — for example fraud, a legal or regulatory requirement, a technical failure, or an event outside our control. We may also suspend or cancel the Giveaway for those reasons. We will post any change on the waitlist page. A change does not take away a prize already validly won.

Your data

To run the Giveaway we process your mobile number, your name and email address, the country you chose, the referral link you joined through, and the invites made with your link. We use them to run the waitlist, verify entries, choose and contact winners, and open your Dovo account at launch. The Privacy Policy on this site explains your rights and how long we keep data.

Your number is never shown to anyone. On the waitlist page you appear only under a two-word alias.

Liability and governing law

We are not responsible for entries or invites that do not reach us because of a mobile network, an SMS provider, a device, an internet connection or any other failure outside our systems, and we are not responsible for a prize that is delayed by a winner's identity checks or by a partner institution.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to any entrant in connection with the Giveaway is limited to the value of one prize. Nothing in these Rules limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

These Rules are governed by Swiss law. The courts of Geneva, Switzerland have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protection you enjoy where you live.
